Real estate development group Altis Capital – formerly known as Royal Capital Group – has big plans for the city of North Little Rock. The $346 million Diamond Valley development project will include over 463 acres of “hotel, living, entertainment and restaurant concepts,” as well as creating over 7,000 new jobs in the area.
Altis Capital’s president and CEO, Mike Halupka, is excited to bring this project and more like it to central Arkansas. After moving to Hot Springs from Dallas seven years ago, Halupka noticed similarities between the rapid growth happening in both areas and decided to capitalize on that potential. “Something was happening right here,” Halupka said, and after reaching out to his contacts and speaking with landowners in the area, he settled on North Little Rock as the spot to bring this vision to life.
The project currently includes four different concepts, with more to be announced in the future. According to the project page, the 41,000 square-foot “Tech-Driven Golf & Culinary Entertainment Venue” will feature tiered golf bays, virtual golf courses with 3D augmented reality (AR), and the ability to compete live with players at other venues. A full-service restaurant will allow patrons to watch the golf competitions and activities while they eat.
Another venue, dubbed “The Asylum,” aims to be an 80,000 square foot, multi-purpose entertainment space for guests of all ages. Among the amenities is “a trampoline park, dodgeball courts, ninja course, traditional VR arcades, gaming lounges, kid zone, and concessions.” To top it off, The Asylum will house “a full-service restaurant, an outdoor concert space and event facilities to host gaming tournaments, birthday parties, family celebrations and corporate events.”
The residential arm of the project, “Diamond Valley Hotel, Spa, & Residence,” clocks in at 227,000 square feet and will feature 440 total units, 60 of which will be “premium living spaces.” Included in the space are a full-service hotel and spa alongside a high rise community of lofts featuring “gourmet kitchens, spacious patios and even plunge balcony swimming pools.”
Also in the works is a Prohibition-themed, speakeasy-style restaurant and bar called Bootleg Mae’s, which will feature “moonshine-inspired cocktails” and an outdoor amphitheater.
Halupka stressed that his goal is to “change the face of entertainment” and make central Arkansas “a destination” for tourists from all over. Halupka also highlighted the importance of the community, adding that this project is “for the people” and that he is eager to receive feedback, questions, and ideas from anyone. “I don’t hide,” he added. The group will be promoting the project around town and making themselves “accessible” for community members to give their thoughts and opinions.
According to Halupka, Altis is still in “phase one” of the project, but he is hopeful that the group can start breaking ground in the coming months.
