On Wednesday, July 8, 2016, ACCESS closed on the former First Christian Church at 1500 North Mississippi according to the commercial real estate firm Colliers International.
A non-profit organization offering full-time education, therapy, training and activities for children and young adults with language and learning disabilities, ACCESS has been at its capacity for quite some time at their current location on 10618 Breckenridge Drive.
Mark Bentley, Principal Broker at Colliers International, said in a press release, “With its central location and easy accessibility from all parts of the city, this is a perfect place for ACCESS […] and will provide much-needed room for expansion as they continue to provide services throughout central Arkansas and beyond.”
Mark Bentley of Colliers International represented the school while Jim Irwin of Irwin Partners represented the church to make the transaction possible.
The 45,457 square-foot building is spread across 10.3 acres of land and was purchased at a little over $2.6 million. The additional space will allow ACCESS to dedicate their Breckenridge location to early childhood services, while focusing on school age and adult services at the new location.
ACCESS Executive Director Tammy Simmons explained the move in a press release, “We have been at capacity for five years and are limited in the number of students we can help each day. More families can be assisted with additional space. This site is also ideal because of the close proximity of the two locations.”
The work on the Mississippi location is expected to begin this summer.
