During a regular monthly meeting on Monday July 11, 2022, The Russellville Planning Commission approved the Legends Resort & Casino, a large-scale development planned for 330 Hob Nob Road, on 135 acres north of Interstate 40 in Russellville.
According to official Planning Commission records, the business plan was submitted by SVP Project Development on behalf of Legends Resort and Casino, LLC, GCK Properties, LLC, John Martin Dufek, Kristina Lee Dufek, Michelle Huck, Ralph Huck, S.S.B. Investments, LLC, Tim Baker, Will Wetzel, and Laura Wetzel. (LSDV-0522-000220)
Sources say the proposed Arkansas Legends Casino will include a casino, hotel, conference center, concert venue, outdoor waterpark and a RV park.
No official details for construction plans were announced, and construction is not expected to begin until surrounding legal challenges are resolved.
Leading up to the recent approval, proponents of a proposed constitutional amendment, Fair Play for Arkansas, turned in over 100,000 signatures of registered voters in their attempt to qualify their proposed measure for the Nov. 8 general election ballot to remove Pope County as a casino site.
